December 8 – Isaiah 11:12

12 He will raise a banner for the nations
and gather the exiles of Israel;
he will assemble the scattered people of Judah
from the four quarters of the earth.

The Promise to Abraham and his children was not just for his family.  In Genesis 12:3 the Lord said to Abraham, “…in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”  The story of the Bible is for all people – the people who look and speak like you and me, and those who are on the other ends of the earth, who speak in strange ways and have mysterious customs.

This has been going on since the day of Pentecost, when the first disciples spoke in the languages of the nations assembled, and in hs continued to our day.   Galatians 3:28:

28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile,

neither slave nor free,

nor is there male and female,

for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
